The Future of Humanity, Technology, and Civilization: Program of International Symposium “Inventing the Future” Published

Russia National Centre begins operation on November 4. International Symposium “Inventing the Future” is its first event. The participants will enjoy three intense days and more than 60 events, focused on four main areas of research: the future of humanity, the future of technology, the future of a multipolar world, and the future of civilizations. The program is already available on the website.

"The Symposium’s mission is to rekindle public interest in shaping the future. This is a platform initiated by Russia for dialogue on the future of a multipolar human-centered world. “Inventing the Future” is not just a name - it’s a philosophy that underpins our work. We aim to unite minds from all over the world to explore new horizons and pave the way forward together,” says Aleksandr Molchanov, the Symposium’s curator.

The Symposium will feature a unique roster of experts from around the world who will discuss different scenarios of the future: science fiction writers, scientists, futurists, philosophers, representatives from creative industries, cultural sectors, government bodies, and industry-specific business communities.

The tone for the discussions will be set by the opening plenary session, “The Philosophy of the Future.” This session will outline the key philosophical, ethical, and civilizational challenges that the global community will face in times of rapid change.

On July 1, 2024, President Vladimir Putin signed an order establishing the Russia National Centre to preserve the legacy of ‘Russia Expo’ Exhibition and to showcase the country’s achievements on a permanent basis.

The International Symposium “Inventing the Future” will be held on November 4-6 at the National Centre.

The opening of the Symposium will coincide with the launch of an exhibition supporting the idea of a dialog on the future of the human-centered world. The exhibition will allow each visitor to realize the importance of personal contribution to the future and inspire a desire to be part of its creation.
