Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will participate in the "Inventing the Future" Symposium
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will take part in the International Symposium "Inventing the Future," which will be held from 4 to 6 November at the Russia National Centre. The Foreign Minister will speak at one of the key events of the Symposium - the panel discussion "Future of Multipolar World."
The event will be devoted to pressing issues of the new world order, as well as the role of Russia and other states in it. Participants will discuss key trends and challenges of modern interstate relations, the role of international organizations and prospects for their transformation.
"In his speech, Sergey Lavrov plans to address the issues of modeling the contours of the future based on the trends of global development, multipolarity as a norm of international life, and will also offer to think about and discuss the issue of Russia's role as one of the most important poles of the emerging world order. There is no doubt that the Symposium will elicit a broad positive response from all over the world. It came into being as a kind of reaction to the appeal of our country's citizens and various world powers to promote Russia's position in the international context on the most pressing problems of our time. We are confident that the event will contribute to the development of contacts, expert elaboration of the topics that are urgent for all mankind today," said Maria Zakharova, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The invitees to the discussion include: Maria Zakharova, Director of the Information and Press Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Karin Kneissl, Head of the Geopolitical Observatory for Russia's Key Issues, former Austrian Foreign Minister, John Stuart Durrant, Honorary Consul of Russia in St. John's (Canada), Dmitry Polikanov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, and Oleg Karpovich, Vice-Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Ph.D. in Political Science. The discussion will be moderated by political scientist Dimitri Simes.
On July 1, 2024, President Vladimir Putin signed an order to establish the Russia National Centre to preserve the legacy of the RUSSIA EXPO and showcase the country's achievements on a permanent basis.
From November 4 to 6, the Russia National Centre will host the International Symposium "Inventing the Future." The participants will include scientists and researchers, futurologists and forecasters, science fiction writers, and representatives of the authorities.
The Symposium will become a unique international platform for open dialog, where the scenarios of human development and global challenges of our time will be discussed. The program includes more than 60 events in four areas: the future of human, the future of technology, the future of the multipolar world and the future of civilization.
The event will be attended by scientists, futurologists, government and business representatives from more than 40 countries, including Austria, Argentina, India, China, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and others.
The Symposium program is published on the website https://future.russia.ru/. Broadcasts of the events will also be available there during the days of the Symposium.
As part of the opening of the Symposium, an exhibition will be launched that will support the idea of a human-centric dialogue about the future of the world. The exhibition will allow each visitor to realize the importance of personal contribution to the future.
