“WE LIVE FOR THE FUTURE”, WRITER SERGEI LUKYANENKO AT THE INAUGURAL EVENT OF THE NATIONAL CENTRE RUSSIA

From November 4 to 6, Moscow will host the International Science Fiction Symposium "Inventing the Future". This will be the inaugural event of the National Centre RUSSIA, established by order of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The significance of the Symposium has been recognized by the renowned science fiction author Sergey Lukyanenko.
“We live for the future. We dedicate ourselves to the growth and development of our country, ensuring that our children and grandchildren inherit a world that is advancing — toward space, toward the stars — where human existence will be increasingly fascinating and fruitful. “Science fiction endeavors to do precisely that — it seeks to explore paths of progress and uncover new significances vital to humanity,” says Sergei Lukyanenko.
Sergei Lukyanenko, the author of “Night Watch,” “Genome,” “Labyrinth of Reflections,” and other works, is a renowned science fiction writer and screenwriter who will participate in the Symposium alongside Yuri Razumniy, an Academician of the K.E. Tsiolkovsky Russian Academy of Cosmonautics, forecaster Sergei Pereslegin, and other esteemed attendees. The extensive program of the event will include expert sessions with international science and business representatives, artists, dialogues with government officials, and much more.
The Symposium will bring training distinguished scientists and researchers, futurists and forecasters, fiction authors, as well as government and industry representatives.
Government, academia, and culture representatives from around the globe will convene to explore pathways for the advancement of contemporary society through scientific and technological innovation. The interaction of the “global intelligence of nations” will yield predictions that may be regarded as a new iteration of human development.
