New content creation technologies discussed at the International Symposium "Inventing the Future"

Experts discussed the impact of technology on the information landscape, IT solutions in the media industry, and the influence of neural networks on the creation of artworks during the case study "How Technologies Will Change Content: Creation, Consumption, Distribution," which was held as part of the International Symposium "Inventing the Future" at the National Centre RUSSIA grounds.

Artists and writers play a significant role in shaping the image of the future, as for them there are no boundaries defined by science, noted Konstantin Ernst, CEO of Channel One.

"The trend is evident — content is shifting from verbal to visual. New technologies embody not so much logic and meanings as dreams and aspirations. That is the future. Because it represents our primary, often hidden desires. They cannot be revealed by any survey, which is why changes often occur radically and unexpectedly. The future is the art of the impossible. In a situation of global transformation, we must clearly understand our goals and objectives. I would take a risk to suggest that the values of our time are not information and logic. All of this is too accessible and therefore does not hold great value. The values of the future are images and dreams. We must recognize these codes," emphasized Konstantin Ernst.

According to him, a legislative ban on the use of modern technologies in content creation will not halt their development, but this industry needs regulation because the consequences of their use are unpredictable.

In the case study within the "Future of Technology" track, the capabilities of artificial intelligence in film, music, and text production were presented. Additionally, experts discussed the potential replacement of a number of specialists with AI, as well as the accompanying risks — particularly concerning the escalation of political situations through the generation of fakes.

Participants in the discussion included Alexei Parfun, co-founder of ReFace Technology and Vice President of the Association of Communication Agencies of Russia; Arman Yakhin, founder and CEO of Main Road Post; Khaldoun Abdullah Mahmoud, media and communication technology advisor to the President of Iraq; Mikhail Sadchenkov, CEO of the National Brand "Made in Russia"; and science fiction writer, game creator and developer Anton Karelian.

The moderator of the discussion was Sergei Grebennikov, Director of the Russian Association of Electronic Communications (RAEC).

The International Symposium "Inventing the Future" is being held from November 4 to 6. Participants include scientists, researchers, futurists, science fiction writers, and representatives from government bodies from 101 countries, including Russia, India, Italy, Iran, China, the UAE, Serbia, the USA, and France. The program features over 60 sessions across four tracks: "Future of Human," "Future of Technology," "Future of Multipolar World," and "Future of Civilizations." The program and event broadcasts are available at the website future.russia.ru.

The International Symposium "Inventing the Future" is the first event of the National Centre RUSSIA, which was established on July 1, 2024, by the order of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The Centre aims to preserve the legacy of the International RUSSIA EXPO and showcase the achievements of the country and its citizens. The work of the Centre involves federal authorities, state companies, corporations, and regions.
