Foreign Participants of the International Symposium “Inventing the Future” to Receive Visas Through an Expedited Process

International participants and journalists attending the International Science Fiction Symposium “Inventing the Future” will be eligible to receive visas through an expedited process based on official invitations, as stated in a directive signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin, and published on the Legal Information Portal.
“Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to ensure visas are issued in the prescribed manner to the Symposium participants and guests, as well as to media representatives, without visa issuance fees, based on official invitations and applications from the organizing committee of the Russia National Centre,” the directive states.
To obtain a visa, foreign participants need only to present an official invitation at the Russian Federation consulate in their country. Visa processing will take one day.
The International Science Fiction Symposium “Inventing the Future” is the inaugural event of the Russia National Centre. The symposium will bring together scientists and researchers, futurists and forecasters, science fiction writers, government officials and business representatives.
The participants will enjoy three intense days and more than 60 events, focused on four main areas of research: the future of humanity, the future of technology, the future of a multipolar world, and the future of civilizations.
Delegates from approximately 40 countries will attend the Symposium, including Austria, Argentina, Armenia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Egypt, India, Spain, Italy, Iran, China, Canada, Kuwait, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Syria, Turkey, France, and others.
On July 1, 2024, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin issued a decree to establish the Russia National Centre and its regional branches to showcase the country’s achievements, strengthen national identity, foster a sense of pride in the nation, develop professional skills among children and youth, and preserve the legacy of the Russia Expo International Exhibition and Forum.
Russia Expo was held from November 4, 2023, to
July 8, 2024, following a Presidential Decree. It showcased the country’s most
significant accomplishments on a single platform and attracted over 18.5
million visitors, including more than 120 delegations from other countries.
